The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program

The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program at Nile University (NU) invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.
Candidates must have earned a doctoral degree in civil engineering (or related discipline) with specialization in Transportation Engineering. The intellectual depth, innovation and potential of the candidate are of higher priority than their specific research area. A non-exclusive list of areas of interest includes; modeling and simulation, planning, traffic and transportation management, traveler information systems, traffic safety, public transit systems, freight operations and logistics, and railway systems. Successful candidates are expected to teach in the ITS graduate program, conduct research in his/her area of specialization, and participate in multi-disciplinary research activities with colleagues in other NU programs/centers

The Business School at Nile University is seeking qualified applications for vacant faculty positions in Finance and Economics, at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Selected applicants will be teaching in the MBA and undergraduate Business programs, participate in the school's executive training activities and maintain an active and continuous research and publication record. Relevant practical experience in business and work/travel in the Middle East is an added asset.

Term of Appointment
Two or three year appointment on a tenure track position starting September 2008. Renewal of contract is subject to appointed faculty performance and school needs. Applicants must submit, electronically or by mail the following documents:

School of Communication & Information Technology (CIT)

CIT School at Nile University invites applications from outstanding candidates for several tenure-track positions in the School of Communication and Information Technology. While we are happy to consider candidates in all areas, the school is particularly seeking strong candidates in the following areas:   Software Engineering and Information Security. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and outstanding academic credentials. Successful candidates will be expected to develop a vigorous externally-funded research program, show leadership and excellence in academic and scholarly activities, and demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching at the graduate level.

(3) statement of research plans in the context of prior research accomplishments,
(4) brief statement of teaching philosophy, and

1. Light Current Systems Engineer.   (Code 7503)

Role Summary:

  • Troubleshooting any integrated systems-related problems with the internal ICT Systems includes, but not limited to, smart card systems, CCTV, video conferencing, access control s and should be carried out in a proactive manner.

  • Incident resolution and change implementation for different systems

  • Installation maintenance configuration and management of the system mentioned above.

  • Implementation of any patches/upgrades as and when required

  • Management of Change requests to ensure effective technical change and service delivery

 Candidate Specification: (Desired Education, Experience, and specific Skills  & Competencies required )

Required:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in large organizations

  • BS in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent

  • In-depth knowledge of CCTV, video conference systems

  • Technical expertise in smart card solutions

  • Knowledge in a complex infrastructure

Preferred:

  • Good level of familiarity with the ITIL framework

  • Knowledge of other technologies

  • Project Management skills.
