Undergraduate Tuition and Scholarship Policy

I. Tuition Fees:

Tuition at NU is EGP 2000 per credit hour for Egyptian and Permanent Resident Students. Tuition for non-Egyptian students is $500 per credit hour.
Tuition per semester depends on the number of credit hours the student will register in. Typically:
- Business students take an average load of 15 credit hours per semester.
- Engineering students take an average load of 17.2 credit hours per semester.
All new students have to pay their tuition before or on the date stamped on their acceptance letter.

II. Scholarship Policy:

NU offers a variety of scholarships to full-time Egyptian students for their first year of studies at NU as detailed below. Scholarships in subsequent years will depend on students’ GPA at NU as shown in the table in item III below.

• “Ahleya” Benefits Scholarships:

In celebration of the “Ahleya” status and of returning to its main campus, the University offers 15% tuition scholarships to all accepted applicants for their first year of studies. Maintenance of this scholarship beyond the first year will depend on the students’ academic performance at NU as per the table below.

• Merit Scholarships:

A merit scholarship will be offered to academically outstanding students based on their high school Score, as outlined in the table below. Maintenance of this scholarship beyond the first year will depend on the students’ academic performance at NU as per the table below.

• President’s Scholarships:

The University offers this additional scholarship for the first year to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic and extra curriculum performance at the high school level.
Maintenance of the President’s scholarship beyond the first year will depend on the students’ academic and extra curriculum performance at NU.

• Faculty Scholarships:

An additional 15% reduction in fees will be offered to sons and daughters of full time faculty members in Egyptian universities, public or private. Maintenance of this sports scholarship beyond the first year , will require that students stay in good standing (GPA 2.0 or higher) throughout their study years at NU.

• Excellence in Sports Scholarship*:

A maximum of 5 slots are available for national sports accomplishments. Priority is given to the top two first places in national sports competitions. A 20% reduction in tuition, in addition to existing scholarships applies. Maintenance of the sports scholarship, beyond the first year, will require that students stay in good standing (GPA 2.0 or higher) and maintain their sports achievement throughout their study years at NU. The table below summarizes the amount of “Ahleya” scholarships and merit scholarships that students could be getting based on their high school Score and the remaining tuition that needs to be paid in every case during their first year of study.

III. Maintenance of Scholarship:

Regardless of the freshman year scholarship type and percentage, except for president’s and sports scholarships, the scholarship percentage in subsequent years is dependent on the student’s cumulative GPA at Nile University as per the table below. President’s and Sports scholarships have their own maintenance rules shown above. Scholarship percentage is determined in the summer of each year for students who will register in the following fall and will apply to the whole year including the following summer (September to August). Scholarships may change from one year to another based on the student’s cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year as explained earlier and shown below.
